Styling the Seasons is a monthly styling series by Katy of Apartment Apothecary and Charlotte from Lotts and Lots. This is the first time I’ve joined in, although I have been admiring from afar for a while. This week I took the time to clear the clutter off my table; replacing the sea of Lego and notebooks with things that sum up ‘January’ for me. It’s all quite yellow. But definitely in a good way – bright and hopeful.
Daffodils… is there a finer flower? They’re a little earlier than usual this winter – but here they are, and aren’t they glorious? Cheap, cheerful and always inspiring.
Oranges… because January is for making marmalade. This time last year I was just starting out with this blog and I wrote a post about the joys of a marmalade day.
A marmalade pot and a yellow jug… this year I’m still thinking about marmalade, but in a slightly different way. I’m thinking about my blog’s name, the colours it evokes and the next step of its journey. This little pot was a birthday present, and the jug is an old vintage find.
Yellow post-it notes… Can you spot them? They’re everywhere in our house at the moment. I’m working hard on a new idea, which I’ll be sharing with you soon. Ideas require post-it notes.

This is so lovely, Lizzie. Daffodils start making an appearance in my house from March 1 onwards. I save them for St.David’s Day … ’tis the Welsh law 😉 x

This is wonderful, Lizzie. Love how bright and cheerful it is; much needed in the gloom of January. Gorgeous earthenware, too. So pleased that you have joined us! xx
