February has been such a busy month – it’s flown by and I can’t believe it’s nearly over. This month I’m sharing some photos of my new desk. Over the half-term holiday my desk was covered in colouring sheets, crayons and action figures. We had a big sort-out at the weekend and it’s finally clear again. And just in the nick of time, as I have a huge amount to do to get my shop ready to open for business. I haven’t set an exact date yet, but everything’s gearing up for early March.
I’m spending a lot of time in this little corner of my house. It’s by a window, so gets lots of light and is perfectly placed to watch our little colony of sparrows dashing about on the bird feeders.
I love vintage crates, and I’ve made a little shelf for my files out of one. It’s also the perfect spot for a bulb – I love watching it grow a little more every day. I wonder what will happen first, the hyacinth flowering or my shop opening?
Tulips are definitely my favourite flower this month. There’s something so irrepressibly cheerful about spring flowers, isn’t there? I love tulips when they’re new and a bit closed-up, but also when they’re heavy, blowsy and a bit droopy.

I’m so excited for your shop launch, keeping my beady eyes open! The tulips are beautiful and your desk area looks gorgeous and so welcoming X

Thanks Lins – I’m so happy not to be working at the kitchen table any more!

That looks like a great space to get things done. I adore your little hyacinth bulb! I need to get some nicer containers for my plants, I think.

This one came ready potted up from Waitrose Rachel!

I love slightly droopy tulips too, I think they’re just so graceful! Love your desk area, and very jealous that you can watch the birds out of the window – wishing now my office was at the back of the house rather than the front, I just get to watch people walking by! Not as exciting 🙂

Seeing blue sky out of my window is lovely this week too!

It looks lovely, and I’m all about the flowers, they really can make a space ‘pop; with colour! I know what you mean about Feb going so fast- we’re nearly a 6th of the year through already, eek! #homeetc

Nooo, a sixth of the year? That’s terrifying!

Nice job! I love bulbs and tulips too and have several around the house at the moment, not on my desk thought. I once spilt coffee on my keyboard and ruined my computer, so all liquids are taboo around the desk!
Good luck with opening your shop. I’m excited to hear how you get on.

Thanks Fionnuala! I did move these flowers before the boys got home – just too dangerous!

Such a lovely, lovely space! And I’m right with you — tulips are my favourite flower for this time of year. In fact, scrub that, if I could have tulips ALL year round I would do!! 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up! #HomeEtc is live from 6am tomorrow — I hope you’ll be able to join us! xx
