I like my everyday spring outfits to be pretty simple. Or maybe I should say pretty and simple? When I open my wardrobe every morning I’m looking for clothes that’ll feel light and delicate, but that can withstand the daily grind of motherhood, work and everything in between.
Here are three outfits I’ve been wearing on repeat lately – one is inspired by colour, the others by fabric and shape…
Fabric: denim and Broderie Anglaise
Oh, I do love a bit of Broderie Anglaise! It’s so elegant with a simple pair of jeans and a camel-coloured coat. I picked up my little sleeveless top from New Look and my jeans are by Seasalt.
Colour: pink
Wear pink this spring and feel as light and fresh as cherry blossom. My pretty blouse was a bargain in the H&M sale and I like to wear it tucked into jeans and underneath a chunky jumper. A pretty pink jumper or tee is another easy peasy way to wear this flattering shade.
Shape: the belted cotton dress
A simple cotton dress is the perfect way to ease yourself into spring. Wear now with tights and brogues, then with sandals in the summer. My dress is by Toast and it’s a thick cotton twill that’s so comfortable. It’s an investment piece that I hope will see me through many seasons to come.
