A floral skirt, three ways

Now that spring is starting to do its thing, it’s time to rescue your pretty floral skirts from the back of the wardrobe. They’re surprisingly versatile and perfect for warmer days!

My new favourite skirt is this floaty number by FatFace. Here are three different ways to style it…

City break

Got a city break planned? Don’t forget to pack a floral skirt to wear while you explore the museums and art galleries. It’s pretty, but also surprisingly comfortable when you’re exploring all day! I’m dressed for a cool spring weather, with thick grey tights, ankle boots and a fine knit jumper.

Utility Style

I love florals, but if you’re not careful it’s easy to look a little too perfect and prissy in them. Because of this, my favourite way to wear them is always with a simple khaki jacket. It lightens the whole thing up – dialling down the smartness and making it perfect for the school run. If you need to look smart in a hurry, just swap the khaki jacket for a tailored blazer.

For a light-hearted weekend look mix your floral skirt with a classic stripy top and trainers. There’s just something so jaunty about this look, which is perfect for strolling into town for a coffee on a Saturday morning. Just add sunshine!
