Thermals from Damart
This week the lovely people at Damart were kind enough to send me over some thermals as an early Christmas present. I feel the cold dreadfully in our old house, and this thermal t-shirt has been a godsend. It’s soft and fluffy on the inside and thick enough to keep out those pesky draughts. I’ll be wearing it a lot this winter!
Toast & Marmalade by Emma Bridgewater
The book I’m reading in the first photograph is Toast & Marmalade and Other Stories by Emma Bridgewater. I got this for Christmas last year and have been re-reading it this week. It’s a lovely, lovely book. It’s part memoir, part general collection of ideas, recipes and beautiful photos. If you’re looking for a book-shaped present for someone then I can heartily recommend it as the perfect thing to dip into during the Christmas holidays. It’s now available in paperback, but I prefer the hard-back edition.
Escape to Christmas Past: A Colouring-book Adventure
I bought this new colouring book a couple of weeks ago and I love it! We all know the therapeutic benefits of some grown-up colouring by now, and this quirky Dickens-inspired book is no exception. The boys and I are enjoying some calm after-school colouring sessions with our communal pot of sharpened coloured pencils – perfect for these December days when it’s dark by four o’ clock.

I do love the Toast and Marmalade range. We bought Lucy quite a lot of the melamine bowls and plates when she was first weaned, and I’m so glad we did, because even though she now uses china plates with us, we have lovely outdoor/picnic plates we still enjoy using.

I just love EB things and would love some more. I went into a shop today with a huge range of it and really swooned! x
