Treat someone to a little bit of luxury this Christmas!
Glorious soap
A lovely bar of soap is a very useful thing to have in your gift armoury. Perfect for stockings, secret Santa gifts or a treat for a friend. This spiced apple soap from Soap Folk looks gorgeous – plus, it can be used as shampoo too!
Pampering hand creams
You can never go wrong with a tube of hand cream from L’Occitane – they always smell amazing and the packaging is super pretty. I’ve also recently discovered this wonderful hand salve by Kiehls. It’s a gorgeous eucalyptus scented cream for hardworking hands. Heavy duty, but manages to feel light, soft and easily absorbed. A treat for anyone who spends half the day washing up the dishes, gardening etc. It’s also great for feet!
Fabulous bubble bath
L’Occitane’s Lavender Foaming Bath is always a treat. Don’t be fooled by it’s simple packaging, it’s really special and remains one of my favourites. Plus, no plastic. For an extra treat, you can also get a beautiful lavender gift set. Another bubbly favourite that’s sure to impress is Elemis’ Aching Muscle Super Soak. It’s packed with therapeutic birch, juniper, clove, lavender, wild thyme and chamomile to soothe overworked, tired and aching muscles. Just one soak in this incredible bath essence with leave you feeling like you’ve been on a spa retreat!
The suit-anyone make up pallete
Make up can be a tricky and very personal thing to buy for someone. There are, however, a few brilliant all-rounders I’d recommend. For beauty novices, or for someone who’s always in a rush, look no future than the Instant Look in a Palette by Charlotte Tilbury. Each palette has a great selection of easy-to-apply cheek and eye tints that suit a variety of different skin tones – just swish it over your face and you’re ready to go!
Lovely lip balms
Cult favourite, Glossier, do one of the best lip balms around. Their Balm Dotcom is a super hydrating lip balm in lots of fun flavours and tints. You won’t find this stuff in your local Boots, so it’s a unusual little stocking filler for a teen (or yourself). I also really rate the tinted lip balm from Burts Bees. It gives lips a pretty subtle sheen of colour that’s so much more fresh and low-key than lipstick.
Calming pillow spray
Know someone who struggles to sleep at night? Treat them to some calming pillow spray. The classic Deep Sleep edition by This Works is great, but I’ve also recently discovered this one by L’Occitane. It smells wonderful and definitely puts you in the mood for sweet dreams!
Lush – the eco heroes
I am devoted a whole section to Lush because I love their products, but more importantly, I admire their ethical and environmental outlook. Most of their products are unpackaged, and what isn’t can be recycled by returning to the store. Treat someone to a selection of lovely bath bombs or bubble bars, beautifully wrapped in one of their printed fabric knot wraps ( made from recycled bottles!). My personal favourites are the bubble bars which can be re-used many, many times in the bath.
Fragrance
Unless you know someone’s favourite fragrance, a great option is to buy them a gift box of miniatures. I can’t wait to try the new range of perfumes from Zara, curated by Jo Malone CBE. You can buy the whole collection as miniatures here for £15 – affordable luxury! In a similar vein, the Penhaligon’s Scent Library is a lovely way way to try all their fragrances.
Box of delights
Who doesn’t like receiving a box of lovely pampering bath and a body treats for Christmas? I particularly love the products from &OtherStories. They look, smell and feel amazing, but come in at a very affordable price tag. The Sicilian Sunrise gift set includes a body lotion, shower gel, scrub and body mist for £29.
