Yesterday was the first icy day this autumn. We wrapped up in our warmest things and set off for a walk. Little boys love icy puddles… especially when they have a stick to poke them with…
We posted a letter…
We ran down hills…
With rosy cheeks and numb toes, we went to the market for a bag of roasted chestnuts…
Then back home for Stir-up Sunday…
As darkness fell the house was filled with the scent of winter spices.
The perfect way to spend a icy day.

Thank you for sharing these special moments. Gives me some inspiration for time spent with my baby son. I have just subscribed and look forward to more posts during the Advent season!

So much fun. As much as I really hate the cold because my body doesn’t work properly and just starts shutting down, I do appreciate how much fun it is to wrap up and go on crisp autumnal/wintry walks before returning to a cosy home and frost is one of my favourites X

You’ll need your new coat then! I could do with some fur lined boots as my feet always get so cold and numb, poor circulation I think x

Lovely photos, Lizzie. I love the idea of stir-up Sunday and I even have a pudding bowl. It’s yet to be christened though. Maybe next year 🙂

Thank you Rachel! I’m glad these photos came out as the shutter button on my camera was sticking weirdly – thank goodness it was a nice bright day! You could still make a pudding now…. I only did a teeny tiny one, reduced the Nigella Ultimate pudding recipe to 1/3. She also has a recipe for a chocolate pudding too in her Christmas book which doesn’t need to be made in advance.. xx
