The happy, settled theme is continuing this week. It feels like we’re setting off into Autumn on the right path – full-speed ahead!
Since the start of term our weekends have been pretty low-key. Last weekend was no exception. On Sunday afternoon we visited Wicken Fen, one of our favourite happy places. I’ll tell you more about this wonderful, sunny afternoon in its very own post – but blackberries, fudge and a boat trip were some of the highlights.
On Sunday I realised that I’ve been living under a stone. Despite my regular use of social media I had somehow missed the fact that last weekend was Downton weekend. How can this have happened? I still can’t fathom it. Maybe if I’d bothered to get my free paper in Waitrose…? Anyway, I watched the Go-Between instead. Which was very good, but every bit as sad and depressing as I remembered. I need to find a way to watch Downton on some kind of catch-up, pronto!
Tuesday and Wednesday were all about celebrating the arrival of Autumn. Gathering together my finds and making a simple wreath.
This week has also been about matching nail varnish to clothes…
One really exciting thing to share with you is that I’ve finally got a new (to me) bike! James and I now have matching Brompton folding bicycles. On Friday we went back to Wicken Fen for a bike ride in the sunshine.
I just need to work out how to fold mine up and down on my own now! Also as they’re the same colour I obviously need to customise mine with some My Little Pony stickers, or similar.
As usual I’m linking up with Jocelyn of the Reading Residence. I think my word of the week has to be bike!

Hehe I’d love to see your bike if you did get some My Little Pony stickers, how cool! Sounds like you’ve had a lovely week. I missed Downton too, you should be able to get it on the ITV catch up thingumy on a laptop. I’m so good at articulating 😉 Xx

Love the matching bikes! Yes, My Little Pony stickers all the way there, I think. I do like that nail polish, too, very pretty. Glad you’ve had a good week x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

Love the contrast with Downton Abbey then My Little Pony. I’ve not heard of Wicken Fen but it sounds like you’ve had a good week there. #WoTW

I’m always fascinated by the Brompton bike, when I see them being folded/unfolded so quickly by commuters at use train stations gtp pretty impressive! Good luck with yours, and at least it’ll be distinctive with its Mw Little Sony stickers!!

My husband commutes on his and is very speedy with the folding thing. I need some practise!

I’ve seen people get to Marylebone and struggle for ages, and it seems the more frustrated they get the worse the folding/unfolding seems to get! Yes, I’d say practise makes perfect!
Tracey @ mummyshire says
Argh!! Predictive text, that should be “My Little Pony” but I guess you thought that might be the case!!

Hi Lizzie, I’ve not seen a folding bike for years, handy to fit in the car I bet! Blackberries, fudge, a boat trip and a bike sound like the perfect recipe for happiness!

Good news about the bike – good luck learning how to unfold it, and with those stickers. Sounds a sure way of identifying yours 🙂 #wotw

Hehe! Them bikes are so adorable, love the fact they’re compactible – oh and my little pony stickers are ESSENTIAL! 😉 X

Oh you really should get some My Little Pony stickers for the bike – and maybe some ‘Spokey Dokeys’ for the wheel spokes too!
Your trip to Wicken Fen looked lovely. Xxx

I saw some of those spoke things in Tiger the other week – I used to love them! Not sure the Brompton bike purist in the house would understand though…
