Last week Jocelyn, from the Reading Residence shared her ‘If I could‘ list. I really enjoyed reading her answers and was thrilled to be tagged to have a go myself! Here goes…
If I could live anywhere…
It would be north Pembrokeshire, where we have enjoyed lots of happy family holidays. It’s a very long way from home for this Cambridgeshire-born-and-bred girl, but there’s something about it that just draws me in. Whenever we get back there, we just can’t wipe the smiles off our faces, and – at the risk sounding corny – it feels like coming home.
If I could have any home…
An old, rambling, house with enough rooms to get slightly lost in. It would be a Farrow and Ball-clad, Country Living-esque vision of loveliness. It would have a huge kitchen with an Aga where we’d spend most of our time. And bathrooms, lots and lots of bathrooms!
If I could have any garden…
Outside would be a large, informal cottage garden full of surprises – anything but straight-up-and-down. They’d be enough space to have whole swathes of just one plant. And arches, gates and walkways. Places to lose yourself. It would also have a lovely large, sweeping drive so I’d never have to worry about parallel parking our car again!
If I could be on holiday right now…
I’ve already mentioned Pembrokeshire, so the place I’d most like to be right now is north Norfolk. We were there at the weekend and I’d love to have more time there, to relax and see more. We never plan a big holiday there as it’s quite close to home, but actually, it’d be perfect right now.
If I could have any job…
Like Jocelyn, I’ve always wanted to be a curator or property manager of an old building – especially if I could basically be Lucy Worsely! My other real ambition though is to own and run my own shop one day – homewares, antiques, toys – all that sort of thing.
If I could have any talent…
I would love to be able to sing, and generally be more musical.
If I could live any day again…
Ooh, this is a tough one. Aside from the obvious milestones like our wedding, children’s’ births and holidays, I’d actually really like to go back to my early twenties and our lovely flat in Pimlico. I didn’t entirely make the most of it at the time, and I’d love to go back and re-live it for a day.
If I could have any superpower…
To walk super-fast, so I never had to trudge anywhere miserably again!
Thank you, Jocelyn, for the nomination!
I would like to tag a few people too. No pressure though if you don’t fancy it!
I nominate:
Katie at A Touch of Domesticity
Catherine at Pushing the Moon
Lins at Boo and Maddie

What a brilliant list! I would love to be able to sing too! I am the only member of my family who can’t sing – my singing voice is as flat as they come!
Thanks for tagging me, I think I will enjoy doing this one! Xxx

Thanks Stephanie! Our camping trip to Norfolk had to be cancelled this weekend so the virtual trip will have to do for now 🙂
