Yay, it’s the weekend! Here are some ideas to inspire you over the next couple of days…
Cheat at pancakes
Pancakes are super easy to make, but sometimes we just don’t have time for faffing around on a Saturday morning. When we need a fuss-free breakfast, I cheat. These Aldi lemon fruited pancakes are particularly yummy warmed up and topped with a little butter.
Drink refreshing cold brew tea
This is millennial speak for iced tea, and it’s very nice on a hot day. I made a lovely berry brew with some Joe’s Tea Berry Best tea bags. Simply soak 4 tea bags in a litre of cold water for about 6 hours. Remove tea bags, and add lots of ice, a slice of orange and some mint leaves. For something with a caffeine hit, try four tea bags of Joe’s Tea Queen of Green blend. Again, infuse for 6 hours in a litre of cold water – then add lots of ice, a slice of lemon and a sprig of lemon balm (or something like rosemary or thyme). So refreshing!
Dress of the week
This Zara spotty dress been so popular – and, remarkably, it’s still available online in all sizes. It’s perfect for warm summer evenings just about anywhere – city, country, beach…it seems to feel at home wherever it goes. It’s very light and doesn’t really seem to crease, so it’s also an excellent candidate for your holiday suitcase!
Visit Melanie Goemans’ open studio
Do you remember the post I wrote about Melanie a couple of weeks ago? It’s her open studio this weekend, 6-7 July. If you’re in Ely, call in and meet Melanie for yourself and see her wonderful artwork. Afterwards, call in at her neighbours the Samovar Tea House for some delicious tea and cake. Full details can of Melanie’s open studio can be found here.
Watch Good Girls on Netflix
I started watching series one this week and love it! Three ordinary American mums find themselves embroiled in a life of crime and the results are very watchable. A bit like Breaking Bad, but with more sass, wit and warmth. The three lead actors are all fab too.
