I’m loving these late summer days. The sunshine is golden and mellow – and on stormy days there’s a faint chill in the air, reminding me of all the pleasures of autumn still to come. My wardrobe is in a good place too. I’ve reached my summer stride fashion-wise and certain items have really proved their worth as investment pieces.
Here’s what I’m loving…
The famous Zara dotty dress lives on
Do you own the famous Zara dotty dress? I even heard it mentioned on Radio 4 this week, which made me smile. Anyway, unlike a lot of trend-led fast fashion, it’s proving to be a really good investment. I bought mine back in the spring and I’ve been wearing it throughout the summer too. It’s one of those dresses that just looks good wherever and however you wear it. I can’t wait to carry on wearing it through the autumn too. If you don’t own it already, it’s not too late as it’s still available here.
Gold earrings forever
I can’t remember exactly when it was that I stopped wearing silver, but it’s been a while. I now exclusively wear gold (or gold-coloured) jewellery. It just looks so good at this time of year when you’re a little tanned and the light is so pretty. Ever since I got a third piercing in my ear, I’ve loved mixing up little gold hoops and studs. These three gold-plated earrings were gifted to me by Muru and they’re so comfortable to wear.
My fave cardigan is back out
During transitioanl weather the humble cardigan comes into its own again. Personally, I like a chunky cardigan than can hold its own in any situation – as a warm jacket, a beach cover-up, a camping saviour…and so much more. My favourite is still this one from Celtic & Co. I’ve had it a year now and it still looks and feels amazing – proving that investment pieces stand the test of time. Sandals are still on
I’m still living in my Salt Water sandals and can’t see that changing that any time soon! I bought my very first pair last summer and they are just as comfortable one year on. I’ll tell anyone that’ll listen that these are the best sandals I’ve ever worn. They’ve never rubbed once and took no breaking in. They still also look fantastic and not even slightly tatty. Again, they have proved to be a fantastic investment.
