It’s turning pretty chilly now and my summer clothes have all been packed away for another year. Here’s what I’m planning on wearing over the next couple of months…
Simple Dresses
You may already know of my love for simple dresses in jersey or thick cotton. In the cooler months I like to wear them with thick tights and jumpers. White Stuff and Cath Kidston always do the best ones. I’ve been wearing my new White Stuff jersey dress (3) a lot over the last few weeks with grey tights. This versatile shape really works for me and I also love this similar dress, also by White Stuff (2). You can always rely on Cath Kidston for wonderful prints and this floral number (1) is no exception.
1. Dress: £50, Cath Kidston / 2. Dress: £65, White Stuff / 3. Dress: £59.95, White Stuff
Knitwear
I always love a simple, plain jumper to throw on over dresses, skirts and jeans. I prefer to buy things that are 100% cotton, or with just a little wool or acrylic. Pure wool and me don’t mix very well – either I’ll shrink it, or moths will eat it. I recently bought this jumper from Fat Face (2), which I’ll get a lot of wear out of this Autumn. I’m also eyeing up this jumper from Zara (1) and the most amazing squirrel cardigan from Cath Kidston (3).
1, Jumper: £29, Zara / 2. Jumper: £35, Fat Face / 3. Cardigan: £85, Cath Kidston
Coats
I love coats and I’ve normally got a few favourites lined up by now. As the weather’s been so good lately, I’ve mainly been wearing my fluffy jacket from White Stuff. I would also love something camel-coloured like this one from Uniqlo, or this school-run beauty from Boden (3).
1: Jacket: £99.95, White Stuff / 2. Coat: £99, Uniqlo / 3. Parka: £179, Boden
Shoes and Boots
At the moment, I’m mostly just stomping around in my trusty brown ankle boots, but I’d love something new. Clarks’ have brought out a new version of my usual ankle boots, but with laces, which I’m very tempted by (1). I’d also like some new plimsolls as my last ones fell apart over the summer. I know canvas is a bit chilly in Winter, but they’d be great for now.
1. Boots: £60, Clarks / 2. Plimsolls: £35, Seasalt / 3. Hightops: £28, Cath Kidston
Accessories
I used to only ever wear black opaque tights, but grey is now my favourite colour. It goes with everything, yet feels a bit unusual. They’re perfect with brown leather boots and I quite like the way they remind me of tights at primary school. These grey cotton tights from New Look (£5.99) are the best I’ve found lately. I also bought this hat (2) from White Stuff last week – which would look pretty amazing with this Zara scarf (1).
1. Scarf: £29.99, Zara / 2. Hat: £17.50, White Stuff / 3. Tights: £5.99, New Look
What are you wearing this Autumn?

Here’s to comfy cosy autumn fashion!! Probably in the last couple of years I’ve made much more effort to wear skirts and dresses after probably two decades of always hiding away. Now most of my jeans belong to dog-walking so in some way it forces me to be a bit more adventurous.
Totally agree with you on the grey front, I love it and it’s so versatile whereas I always feel black is more of a work association X

I used to always just wear jeans too – I now actually find dresses and skirts more comfortable though! x

I’ve never thought about trying grey tights but I’m quite tempted to go and buy some now as a change from black. I love the Cath Kidston dress and the squirrel cardigan. Lovely selection of autumn outfits 🙂
