Comfy, worn-in jeans and a pretty top – it’s a classic look that never dates. You probably already own the jeans, and I bet you’ve got some pretty tops from last year. In this post I want to show you my favourite ways to wear this simple combo – and although I’ve linked to new clothes and shoes, these are all timeless pieces you could find in the charity shop or the back of your wardrobe…
Linen top & straight leg jeans
Good quality linen shirts last for years. If you don’t want to buy new, search on eBay for nearly new versions by brands like Boden or Monsoon. This linen top by Woolovers is super simple and super practical. The shape is laid back yet super pretty thanks to the details on the sleeves and neckline. It’s perfect with a flattering pair of slim-fit jeans and some pumps.
Wrap top & cream jeans
This is such a gorgeous, fresh look for spring and early summer! Cream jeans and wraparound tops are both perennial style favourites, so keep an eye out on eBay and in second hand shops. If you want to buy new, then the gorgeous print and tailored look of this blouse from & Other Stories looks wonderful with these relaxed cream jeans. It’s officially on my wish list.
Belted shirt and skinny jeans
I love the retro feel to this belted shirt by Monki. Keep everything else really simple – a pair of skinnies and some heeled sandals are all you need! If you don’t want to buy a new shirt, and can’t find anything similar in a charity shop, try wearing a oversized shirt you already have with a skinny leather belt.
