I’m feeling inspired by the beautiful and bold colours of summer – from golden yellow and burnished gold, to deep blues and vivid greens. This inspiration is working its magic in my wardrobe and I’m reaching for rich hues, classic shapes and grown-up jewellery. Here’s what I’m loving right now…
Gold jewellery
Sun-kissed skin and gold jewellery are a classic combination that never goes out of date. Layer up necklaces of different lengths to create a beautiful bohemian look. Raid your jewellery box, or treat yourself to something new like some of Daisy London’s beautiful necklaces. I’m wearing the Esteé Lalonde T-Bar necklace and the Isla Tidal Twist necklace – both by Daisy London.
A classic shirtdress
Navy might not be your first choice of colour for a summer dress, but it’s surprisingly versatile and chic. I love the simplicity of this belted dress by Mango – which is thin enough for hot weather now, but will work equally well with tights in autumn. It’s also available in light khaki, if you fancy safari-chic instead!
A straw hat with a ribbon tie
I always love a big hat in summer and this year I’m loving the new ribbon tie twist on classic straw styles. Tie it in a bow on windy days at the beach, or sling it over your shoulder while you’re out and about. My hat isn’t available online, but this version by ASOS is remarkably similar and costs £18.
A clever little jacket
Unless it’s a heatwave, midsummer days still tend to be a little cool at times. A thin cropped jacket will add a layer of warmth without weighing you down. I love this jacket by SeaSalt, which is is currently in their sale for £39.95. It’s a clever sales purchase because it’ll see you right through the autumn too.
